I had an iPod with 1300+ songs. My computer crashed so I trasnfered the files to my new computer via the iPod. All my ratings were deleted, and a lot of the file names were messed up. For example, about 1/4 of the file names were just letters, such as "JDKI" instead of "Kid Cudi- Soundtrack to My Life". I went through each song, and fixed the title, but the original file is still messed up. The name in itunes is okay, and it's okay on my iPhone (im syncing to iphone now, not ipod). But in the folder, the name is still "JDKI". What do i do?

I want the names of my files in windows explorer to be correct as well. This would be VERY helpful for me to sort through the songs. Is there a way to fix this??

THanks.

Hi, the best way is to use a good iPod transfer program to copy all files from your iPod to your new computer and iTunes.

This is how I did. I used MediaWidget to move all library files from my iPod onto my computer and iTunes http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/MediaWidget.htm

It can transfer all iPod content to the iTunes on your computer, including iPod music, movies, playlists, videos, podcasts, ratings, last played, and more. It's such a powerful one that many friends around me have used it for a long time. Easy and safe.

Now all files are on your computer and iTunes, you can sync your iPod with it smoothly without deleting any files.

Just free download it to try.

Tunes Cleaner is a powerful yet easy to use iTunes cleanup tool, which could act as an iTunes duplicate remover to delete duplicate in iTunes and an iTunes library cleaner tool to clean iTunes library and fix iTunes for completing iTunes music information, like artist, songs, album, and album cover.
