Question:
ipod touch/iphone appsync problem?
2010-05-26 20:36:50 UTC
i jailbroke my itouch and whenever i sync it, itunes always removes my cracked apps. so i found a solution for it, ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1L8XKkgOsM ) and it seems like i need to have appsync 3.1 by hackulos. but before i found out, i accidentally installed appsync for os 3.1.x by sinful iphone. but now whenever i try to remove it to be able to install appsync3.1, it has an "error: running" and says "Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1). then when i press ok, it says "/var/cache/apt/archives/us/hackulo/appsync31_1.0.1_iphoneos-arm.deb" and under it, "trying to overwrite '/usr/libexec/installd', which is also in package com.sinfuliphone.appsync31". and before it starts, it installs appsync 3.1 BEFORE it removes appsync for os 3.1.x. so now idk how to fix this..any possible way to remove appsync for os 3.1.x manually? or maybe if i need it for my itouch to work, then is there a way to fix this?

ok i had the same issue this morning and decided to google it however google did not help

that's how i found this question

but i found a solution that i just did

Open Cydia

Then go to Manage

Then go to Sources

then go to edit

then REMOVE the hackulo source

then UNINSTALL the sinful version of appsync and it should work

now go back to Manage

then back to sources

then add the hackulo source again

then install app sync hackulo version or whatever but your iPod should be good now!

Yes you can remove appsync manually. in cydia go into manage -> packages-> select appsync for OS 3.1.x then tap modify (on the top right), click remove. wait for it to finish then respring iphone.

PS. the source for hackulo.us is http://cydia.hackulo.us/

im also having a problem, i have a jailbroken ipod mc model 3.1.3, and i know i can use appsync 3.1.2 to back up my cracked apps... except when i try to install this app, this message comes up ---> "the requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed"

anyone know what this means?
