Do you have to pay for push notification on the iPod touch?

I love that they've come up with the push notifications, but I just saw when I connected my iPod to the computer that you have to upgrade your software for $9.99 to get it. I'm sorry but I don't have the money to be spending on that. I just bought the paid version of AIM, and was excited to get push. Can anyone explain if theres a free way to get it and how it works?

Sorry, push notifications only come with 3.0 firmware which is $9.99. You do get some other features other than push notifications, but what about saving up the money for the new firmware because it's not really working right now anyway (at least personally)?

That website will allow to upgrade your ipod to 3.0 for free. I suggest you get the right version for your ipod. Looking in the ipod section, if its not there going down to the iphone / ipod section and it should be there. But make sure you pick the one that has 3.0 in it. After you update you will be able to have push notification, you can't have push for free.

I only use outlook to sync with itunes. it syncs projects calendar and notes. It dosent value something outlook comes with office2xxx which ever version you have. you wont be waiting to natively view be conscious scientific docs and spreadsheets, yet whilst place of work scientific docs have been a concern you wouldve appeared at a crackberry.

Your actually paying for the whole new os. It's worth it. Bur for now your old os will have push. Totally free.
