Right click on the song in itunes, click get info, and fill in the info. If you want to put in the name of the artist or album for many songs, select them all and right click on one of them and it will apply the info to all of them.

Trying to make this answer clearer than some of the slightly confusing ones above...

You can't change the names using your iPod. You have to do it using iTunes. If it wasn't you that put the music on there in the first place, then you can't do it.

If it is your iTunes, then load iTunes and select the song you want to rename. You can either do it by clicking twice slowly on the name or artist or whatever it is you want to rename, so that the name becomes editable. Or you can select it, right-click on it (or control-click on it if you're on a Mac), go to 'Get Info', and then under the second tab from the left, you can change all the song's info- name, artist, album artist, album name, year, genre, composer, everything.

I have an iPod and I know all about it! So go into your iTunes and right click on the song(s) that you want to rename. Then click "Get Info." Click on the little tab that says "Info" and from there, you can erase anything and add anything! Then, obviously, push OK. To get the new info on your iPod, plug it in to the computer with the long wire thing (sorry I forgot what its called!) and put your iPod on the other end (you probably know this stuff) and then it will say "Updating iPod Do Not Disconnect" and when it says that its safe to disconnect or something, its all done! Hope I helped and please give me a thumbs up or whatever you do that is good because I just made this and am very new to it!

1. Type the song into Google then see if there are similar results for the same song (e.g. Fluorescent Adolescent, if it comes up with Arctic Monkeys, it is likely, "Arctic Monkeys will be the Artist).

2. Then click to highlight the song, then click in the Artist's name and change it to the appropriate artist.

3. Connect your iPod onto iTunes with your PC/Mac

4. Sync your iPod!

5. Your updated songs should now be on your iPod!

6. Hope this helps! :)

Click on the name of the song in iTunes. Then wait a second, then click again. The title should now be highlighted, and ready for editing. Type in what you want, and you're good to go as soon as you synch your ipod.
awesome!

first make sure the music is on itunes.

go to itunes and double click on where it says track one. keep double clicking until it gives you the white blank thing where you can type in the name.

same with unknown artist. keep double clicking until it gives you the white blank think where you can type in the artist.

its the same for album, year, genre, etc.

You'll need the correct cable and you can probably find one that doesn't cost too much at your local Circuit City, Apple Store, even Target. If there is a way to add music without a cable, I've never heard of it.

On the itunes programme on the computer, right glick the track with missing details, then click GET INFO. After that click on the INFO tab, then fill in the details under the correct headings.

when you have itunes open, right click the song and click info. then you just click on one of the tabs, cant remember what one, and you add the artist, the album, and song names in there. you can also add images to it if you really want to. (:

click the song then get info then put the info there, or just click unknow artist and a box to rename it will appear.

you can add it yourself or you go to Advanced on iTunes and click on the Get CD Track Names.
