iPod stuck in reset mod and itunes won't recognize it. How do I fix it?

My iPod is stuck at the manual reset screen (middle button + menu) and when I plug it into my computer it won't even recognize it. It says "Do not disconnect" until its finished charging then tells me "Okay to disconnect". When it's trying to reset I hear a motor type sound in the iPod and a clicking noise. There is no visible physical damage that I know of.

I own a 80g ipod classic, it's a year old.

toughie.....wait fort the battery to die and then plug it to a wall outlet to see what happens.



if you froze your ipod like a case of my brother just leave it in a room temp room for a while until it is not so cold and then restart it.

Well I don't know what the problem is, im not an ipod guru but you could just wait for the battery to run out.



PS: You could also install rockbox on your ipod soo much better than the restrictions made by apple.

i'll wager which you somewhat choose the as much as date version now and lower back to maintain the ipods in sync with the workstation, the older ones seem to have this problemmore many times. plug in the usb to the workstation and ipod and spot if that works. you may toggle the off on now and lower back too. attempt to hold down the middle button until the apple shows up, thats a terrific sign. good success, it sucks to attempt to restoration those issues.

if it says 'do not disconnect' it means that your computer did recognize it. my ipod produces the same sound when i connect it to computer. but i am sure it is nothing special. if you think something is wrong with your ipod bring it to the official Apple store, they will help you to fix the problem, if any.
