I disconnected my iPod (3rd Generation) before ejecting it and now the screen is stuck on "Connected, eject before disconnecting." Also I tried hooking the USB chord up to it again, and my iTunes isn't reading it, and I dont know what to do. I've also tried holding down the Menu and Play button, and that's done nothing also. I've also uninstalled my iTunes and reinstalled it, but nothing seems to be working. I just got this iPod over a week ago, and I really need help!

This happened to me before, toggle the switch to hold for about 10 seconds and then back again, hold the menu and play button on a flat surface for a minute-sometimes it takes longer. Mine was jammed up like that before. I realize that you've already tried resetting but like I said, sometimes you have to hold the buttons for a long time. (and repeat)

You need to reset it. You were halfway there with holding down menu and play, but you need to flip the hold switch first. The hold switch is on the very top of the iPod. Flip it on (so it turns orange) then flip it off, then hold Menu and Play down for about 10 seconds.

That same thing happened to me last night.

Make sure when you're pushing menu and the CENTER button you hold it for abut 8 seconds and it should restart..

Sounds odd but BEST thing is to let it run until battery gets flat (1 or 2 days) then plus in the USB lead while holding down the Menu and centre key together for about 30 seconds until an apple symbol appears and it resets.

then run itunes and click RESTORE.
