Or should I forget vintage, and go for a U-Turn Orbit on Amazon for $310?

Current electronics I have is a modern receiver, Pioneer VSX-523, a old school Sony HST-221 Integrated Stereo Amplifier, and a Pioneer VSP-333 amplifier.

Haven't you bought a turntable yet??? Just buy a Audio Technica AT-LP120 and go on with life. Not a wonderful turntable, but it's In the very low $200's (Fry's places it on sale for $199 often), it is new, it functions and you will end the suffering of looking for a turntable.

Ummm...

The Pioneer is a good model, but it's not worth $400.

I don't like the Orbit --- it looks cheap.

My advice is to keep searching until you find

something like that Pioneer for less than $100.

Instead of trying to get one through ebay,

look around near you at thrift stores,

estate and garage sales, and swap meets.

Sometimes, with some luck on your side,

very good deals on audio equipment

can be found at amateur-radio swaps.

Keep an eye out for announcements of events of that nature

or ask local hams when and where the next one will be held.
