Oh, I know the reason why you can't play the burned dvd well in the dvd player, but only work fine in computer, because you just burned a data dvd from your video with windows media player(directly burn the video onto a dvd disc without convert to the right video dvd format), and you should note most dvd players only recognize standard video dvd well, can't play data dvd, but computer can play data dvd fine, so if you want to play the burned dvd in the dvd player, you need to use a right software to convert your video to standard video dvd then burn to writable dvd disc, you can follow me to use RZ DVD Creator, it can convert any video files to standard video dvd then burn to any dvd disc(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), easy to use, insert a dvd disc into your computer dvd burner drive, run RZ DVD Creator, select the dvd burner drive as the target folder, then drag and drop the video into the software, press the START button, you will get a right standard video dvd, and you can play the burned standard video dvd well in the dvd player. You can yahoo or google search and download RZ DVD Creator, easy to use, hope it could help you.

"yep it happens.

bad disk burns !

crap disks !

comp will read files but you get disk error or no valid disk

message in TV/DVD player.

It just a poorly burned disk or bad quality disk.

thats all.

you have to verify every copy 100% on a tv/dvd player.

computers will always play it more sensitive readers.

just burn another one or 2 copies or buy a new burner (they go out after 400 or so burns.

or decrease way down the speed of your burner, that helps.

you can get sometimes 10 to 20 poor quality disks per 100, especialy with Verbatum.

also only use +R.

-R is for music.

the difference is where the data is written to the disk and the speed of the disk.

Music disc are -R.

Movies should be +R cause more data needs to be accessed faster and thus written to the outside tracks of the disk.

just a suggestion."

Guess you want to try Windows DVD Maker.

The best and most reliable DVD burning tool that I've ever used is a tool called DVD Creator. It's able to burn all kinds of videos to DVD disc. After that, you can view the DVD on DVD player. It also lets you edit videos and create DVD menus. Easy to use and professional.

You should really give it a try. You may check out at:

DVD format is VOB. It contains two folders Video_TS and Audio_TS, you have to convert your video to DVD compatible video at first, otherwise regular DVD player can not read and play it. If you don't know how to burn a playable DVD, I think this DVD Creator would help you a lot. I always use it to convert and burn movie to DVD to play on my home TV, it's easy to use and works pretty well, if you are interested in it, here is a step by step guide about how to use it.
