Classic: music, video, games [large memory] (good)

Shuffle: music [no song selection] (bad)

Nano: music, video, games (good)

Touch: music, video, games, non-Apple games, internet (good)

Phone: music, video, games, non-Apple games, internet, phone (good)

I would go with the classic if I were you

It depends on you. That's how I'll answer this question. Since you can get any Ipod, don't even consider the shuffle. The Nano, well if you want an Ipod that is cool and small, you will use all the time, and have a few amount of songs, the nano is probably the Ipod for you. Now, the Classic is the flagship of all the Ipods, coming out at you with 80GB or 160GB, and that is so much memory, I'll commend you if you ever fill it up. I'll guarantee you that this your Ipod if you have thousands of songs and a lot of videos. Not to mention the battery life, 30 hours on the 80GB and 40 hours for the 160GB. And for the finally, the revolutionary Ipod Touch. This guy has all apps; maps, weather, notes, you tube capability, safari ( an apple web browser), and the ability to purchace songs on the go(assuming your i n a wifi area). With a 22 hour battery life, 8GB or 16GB flash memory, you want this Ipod if you have a reasonable 1500 songs and several movies. It's a touch screen of course, and it's a 3.5 inch display. The choice is yours, enjoy.

Best is relative. Thats why apple has the different iPod choices because my "best" might not be the same as your "best".

Apple's smallest player, the shuffle, is a simple player with low storage space. If you've only got a handful of songs, need minimal control of the songs, and don't have much to spend ($79.99) it may be the one for you. I use it as a cheap player to use while excersing.

Another popular option for active people is the nano. Its compatable with the nike shoe system to track your work outs and features a larger storage space then the shuffle. The screen allows more control of you music and will also play videos. If you are a serious athelete who wants music for a full gym session this may be the "best" for you. If you want a colorful mid range player that fits in your coin pocket it might also be the "best". Its small and availible in multiple colors.

The classic is kind of the power user of the iPods. They top out at 160GB now. Thats an entire DVD collection on your iPod. Some one with a massive digital library would think this one is the "best" because all of the music, video, photos, etc. they have would be at their finger tips at all times. Any of the other iPods you'd have to pick and choose what you take with you.

The final option is the iPod touch. Its a more eclectic mix then the others. With its built in wi-fi you can conncect to the internet, download songs straight off iTunes, watch YouTube and much more. The full touch screen means there is more space for movies and pictures. I like mine because I travel alot. I can watch movies while wating for the plane or even on it (assuming I turn the wi-fi off). Storage tops out at 16 GB so while I like it because I don't have to bust out my laptop while on the road to get on the net, I couldn't take my whole library on the road, just selected movies or TV shows. Thats my "best" but like I said earlier it may not be everyones.

The Touch is the best technology out there But unfortunatley it will only hold 16 Gigs , about 4000 songs

For quantity the New Ipod 160G will hold about 40000 songs

Bothe of them sound incredible through a pair of Bose headphones but that will run you another couple of hundred

The only advantage I can see that the touch has over the Ipod is a slightky bigger screen and Wi Fi capabilities

If you live in the sticks and don't have a wireless modem hooked to a desktop in your house this feature is useless

For my money .....I'd go with the 160G

It depends on how much your parents are willing to pay XD

..and how much content you want.

- iPod shuffle ($79)

(1GB or 240 songs, 5 colors)

- No screen, but very small/slim and lightweight

-iPod nano (4GB = $149 8GB= $199)

(1,000 songs, or 3,500 photos, or 4 hours of video) = 4GB

(2,000 songs, or 7,000 photos, or 8 hours of video) = 8 GB

(5 colors for 8GB)

- Plays videos, holds photos, large screen for its size, very slim.

-iPod classic (80GB = $249 160GB = $349)

(20,000 songs, or 25,000 photos, or 100 hours of video) = 80GB

(40,000 songs, or 25,000 photos, or200 hours of video) = 160GB

(2 colors)

- Basically the same as the nano except larger in size and screen and with a much larger storage capacity and battery life.

- iPod touch (8GB = $299 16GB = $399)

(1,750 songs, or 10,000 photos, or 10 hours of video) = 8GB

(3,500 songs, or 20,000 photos, or 20 hours of video) = 16GB

Large 3.5 inch screen, touch sensitive, Wi-Fi, go on any website even watch YouTube videos on it, very slim, not as much memory as classic but the features makes up for it. A definate eye catcher.

iPhone (8GB = $399)

-Same as touch except it has all the basic features that cell phones have today also has a built in camera, advance maps, requires an AT&T subscription to use the phone cabability.

If you already have a good phone I would recommend the touch but if you want to go all out and have all your needs in one simple device the iPhone is for you!

Enjoy..
