You can do it yourself for free. If there is a headphone socket on your record player then it's easy. You will need a cable with a stereo jack plug (3.5mm) at each end. You will also need a recording programme, I use audiograbber which is a free download. Then plug the cable into the headphone socket on the tape, and the line in socket behind your computer. Start Audograbber and under file select line in sampling. Start off with the player volume fairly low and adjust till the recording levels are OK just to test. Then simply record to your computer. If you wish to convert to MP3 you will need an encoder, the instructions for downloading this are in Audiograbber. Once the music is on the computer you can create CDs using Media Player or Nero. Hope this helps

You need to have following things...
LP Player with line output jacks.
PC with audio card having line input jacks.
Audio recording software like 'wavepad'
I did audio cassette to CD conversion using this.
LP records are also like this except you need to do filtering on content in sound file after recording it. These features are available in 'wavepad'.

Don't know who could do it for you but if you record it onto a cassette you can play it through your computer with a lead to "line in" on the soundcard. From there you can capture it onto hard drive and burn it on your own cd.
Time consuming but not really difficult to do but you may lose some quality.

Firebox ( http://www.firebox.com/ ) do a USB turntable for £120 to download your vinyl to your computer. There's probably people you know that need the same service so you could re-coup the cost by charging them.
