There are several methods of "Syncing" and "Transferring" music for Ipods and vice versa. one of the most popular Methods is Via "iTUNES". The software has many options such as Database Updates, Syncing and Managing music which is free to use.
Another Software method is "SharePOD". this software in some cases relies on Itunes to be loaded in Order to Run, But as far as simplicity, originality and User Menu go this is probably the easiest Software to use for Transferring Folders of Mp3's or single Mp3's alone. This software enables you to delete Single files or multiple files at a time which in time is the easiest and quickest way to get your Ipod loaded and going.
There of course many other options. The ones I listed below as sources are Free to USE. You will of course come upon several others which will do the Job more efficeintly, but there will be a price with most. I hope this answered your question and gets you started with your new "Apple IPOD".
