Some of the discussions on apple may help. http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?threadID=&q=music+gray&objID=c149&dateRange=lastyear&userID=&numResults=30&rankBy=10001 http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8393760 http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8373722 http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8782609 just briefly looking, it sounds as if you have it set to sync automatically. i hope you can sort it out. x

use the USB cable that came in the box and connect it to the computer/lapotop. if you don't already, download the latest verzion of itunes. then, open up itunes. now a little thingy on the left should show my device and a picture of the ipod you own. click on that, and then a list of your music should appear. if you'd like to delete something, right click it and press delete. to add songs, go to the top of the left thingy, and click on music(library). when you see a song you'd like to put on youre ipod, click on it and drag it to the music on your device picture.

if this isn't helping, call 1-800- 692-7753 ( my-apple)

you need to delete the songs from your itunes music library

then you need to sync your ipod

after it is done syncing, the songs that you deleted off of your library should be deleted off the ipod
