What I do is connect the iPod, open iTunes, and click on it (the iPod). Then you see 3 folders - contacts, calendars, and notes. Select notes. Then File->New and then select what kind of a file you want. Then you name it, open it, and write or paste what you need. When you're finished, save it. If the iPod starts updating then you've succeeded. If not, try saving it again. You could also drag somethin to the new folder, butI'm not sure if that works.

Make sure that the CD that comes with it is installed on your computer and that you have also installed iTunes (which is automatic with the CD). Then all you do is connect your Nano to your computer and iTunes should automatically update your Nano. However if there are no files in your iTunes library then open iTunes go to File, Add Folder to Library and choose the folder where all your music is stored. Then in iTunes on the left hand side where it says Library, Podcasts, Party Shuffle...etc.Click on the Ipod Nano (Mine is called Anastasiya's iPod) yours would have a different name. Than right click on it and click update and this should load up all the songs which are in your library. Good Luck Enjoy The Music :) x

You need to enable disk use in Edit>preferences>Ipod within ITunes and than it should appear as a disk drive in My Computer. See http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tutorial/ip_gettingstarted_t13.html
