I have an iPod that I use with my notebook. I recently dusted off the ol' desktop, and I want to transfer all my music FROM the iPod TO the desktop iTunes. I've tried "enabling disk use," but when I view my iPod in My Computer, there's no file for all my music (only contacts, etc). I have a 30 gig Video. I have Win XP. Thanks.

Transferring iTunes Music:

>>> MAKE SURE that your iTunes is set to [MANUALLY MANAGE MUSIC] <<<

Method #1:

[Note: I have no personal experience with this method]

If ALL of your music was purchased from the iTunes Music Store then Apple has a step by step solution: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173

Method #2:

Download iDump or any other similar software from download.com (for free).

Method #3:

[This method does not require third party software or an internet connection. This method will transfer ALL songs, photos and videos from iPod to computer; use Method #2 to transfer specific songs. Playlists will not transfer.]

> Connect iPod to computer.

> [Start]

> [My Computer]

> Double click [iPod drive]

> [Tools]

> [Folder Options]

> [View]

> Select [Show Hidden Files & Folders] and click [OK]

> Right click [iPod Control] folder.

> Select [Properties]

> Un-select [Hidden] and click [OK]

> Select [Apply Changes To This Folder, Subfolder And Files] and click [OK]

> Open [iPod Control] folder.

> Open [Music] folder.

> You will notice folders labeled F00, F01, F02, F03, etc.

> Place iTunes side by side w/ this window. Make sure that [Music Library] is displayed.

> In iTunes select [Edit> Preferences> Advanced] and put a check next to:

- [Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized] &

- [Copy Files To iTunes Music Folder When Adding To Library]

> Click [OK]

> Drag and drop all of the [F] folders into the iTunes [Music Library]

> Done.

Method #4:

[Use your iPod as an external hard drive.]

> Locate the [Music Folder]. If you don’t know where the Music Folder is open iTunes and go to [Edit> Preferences> Advanced] to find the Music Folder location.

> Then go to [Start> My Computer> iPod Drive]

> Drag and drop the [Music Folder] into the [iPod Drive]. You can even transfer documents and photos as well.

> On the new computer open iTunes and select [Edit> Preferences> Advanced] and put a check next to:

- [Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized] &

- [Copy Files To iTunes Music Folder When Adding To Library]

> Click [OK]

> Open the iPod Drive [Start> My Computer> iPod Drive] and drag and drop the music folders into the iTunes [Music Library] interface.

> Done.

here are two ways

first one:get a program lik idump, ipod copy ect

second way:do it yourself

1. Connect the iPod to your PC. If iTunes starts syncing (ie erasing) your music automatically, hit the X in the upper right hand corner of iTunes display, to the left of the search box, to stop it.

2. In Control Panel, Portable Media Devices, double-click your iPod.

3. In the Tools menu -> Options, in the View Tab, check "Show hidden files and folders."

4. Navigate to the Music folder. On my 2nd gen 'pod, the full path is

Portable Media Devices\(your name)IPOD (F:)\iPod_Control\Music

5. Select all the music folders, and drag and drop them into a folder on your hard drive, or directly into iTunes.

And you're done!

If all the songs you go with are on your iTunes, then merely sync your iPod touch with iTunes. Syncing merely ability the two iTunes and your iPod might have all a similar songs. If no longer, then acquire iDump application which will take all the music off of your nano and placed them into iTunes. Then sync the two like I pronounced in the past.
