YES ITS WORTH THE MONEY... trust me

Video 30GB- i have this one, the only problem is that the battery wears down quickly when you watch videos

Nano- is also really good, my brother has it, its small and compact

Is an iPod worth the money? In my opinion, probably not, there are cheaper equivelent models out there. However it does seem to be the industry leader, has a good software platform (iTunes) and is continually eveolving - this may also be seen as a disadvantage as models are rendered obsolete in a fairly short period of time. The iPod may also be seen as being quite iconic, defining a generation somewhat. All that being said I DO own an iPod (60gb video), and the sound is very good especially when connected to a Bose Sounddock. In summation, get one, which one is upto you, but go for a 5th Gen (nano / video) and go for the maximum you can afford.

I just bought 2 of them. A 4G mini for my wife and a 20G for myself. I use them mainly in the car and in the house through the stereo. Both have wireless FM transmitters so no need for any additional wiring. Once they ar eloaded up there's no more carrying around CDs to get dirty or scratched-- no skipping or jumping and they will hold anywhere from 1500 - 5000 songs in about the size of a cell phone.

I bought the IPod instaed of any other brand because they are the easiest to get any accessory for and have the best reputation. If you take the time to bid on UBid.com, you can buy them fairly reasonably priced and save quite a few bucks

A common misconception is that an mp3 player and an Ipod are different; that is like saying "do you want a ford mustang or a car?" I would definately say that because of this common misconception they are too costly. There are other manufactures that provide more for the money.
