I got a virus on my computer, then it got loaded onto my ipod.
I got my computer completely wiped, but every time I try to hook up my ipod to the computer, it infects my computer again and makes it freeze.
I can't go on tunes and click restore to put my ipod back to factory settings because as soon as it syncs my computer freezes.
I thought about booting it in safe mode, but Idk if itunes will come up in safe mode.
is there software that I can somehow download onto my ipod that will just wipe it?

I am thinking that what your dealing with is not a virus anymore but a driver issue. Since you reinstalled your OS or as you say completely wiped your computer. This means that you also need to install the drivers for it.Go to your computer manufacturer's driver website and install all the necessary drivers for your specific computer model. Most of the time you need to install them in the correct order. I don't recall the correct order and it may vary with computer models. If you can't find the correct order than try installing them in whichever order you choose and it may or may not give you issues. there is a good chance you won't have problems but there is still a chance you will if you don't get the drivers installed in the correct order.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. The cyber-criminals have been busy creating some very nasty viruses for iPods and embedding them in music and video downloads.

If you turn off the auto-sync function, you might be able to wipe your iPod and get rid of the virus, worm, bot or whatever malware has infected it. Try this (without having your iPod connected to the computer):

- Open iTunes

- Click Edit>Preferences

- Click the Devices tab on the small pop-up screen

- Check the box next to "Prevent iPods and iPhones from syncing automatically"

- Click OK to save your changes

Now connect your iPod, and see if you can run a virus scanner on it. (The iPod will probably be either your E: or F: drive.) Then restore it to wipe the iPod and reinstall the software.

I hope this works for you.

"so i'm compelled to apply a disc that got here with my previous computing gadget." do no longer you mean so you might use the single that did no longer incorporate the computing gadget? i'm puzzled - i presumed that the disc that got here with the gadget wasn't readible. Is your CD tension working? Assuming it reads DVD as nicely. Yu wipre your HD via installation the OS, common as that. be beneficial that that's the alternative by way of fact getting your laptop back to regularly occurring after a reinstall may well be a time-ingesting discomfort.

Im thinking that maby if you had a warranty on your ipod you could possibly send it back to the factory and get a new one.

But i would only use this as a last resort as it could not be the ipod.
