I have a 2003 Honda Civic with the factory radio that it came with so no headphone jack or usb port. I've seen those little USB ports that plug into the cigarette lighter and was wondering if I could use that to listen to my Creative Zen MP3 player in my car. If so do I just plug my USB cord that I use to charge the player with into the port and the other end into my player and wham it works? Or is it not that simple? Will it just automatically play through my speakers or do you have to set it on a certain station? Sorry I'm not tech savvy at all. I'm sick of the radio and would like to just listen to my player. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Yes that is how it works but sound quality is Bad, you have no idea the static and distortion you will get Stay away from FM transmitters . The best way to input audio into the Honda Civic radio is using an auxiliary audio input interface,

that is compatible with the factory Honda radio.

there is nothing wireless about the aux interface, that means the signal isn't getting degraded by the process of sending it to your Honda car stereo. The good thing about an auxiliary Interface is that it is a digital direct connection of the audio signal from your Creative Zen MP3 this way you will get the best CD sound quality, they are very simple to plug in just one connector and they are not expensive $50.00 to make it work you press the CD button twice on the radio

good luck

I decide to edit this, or add more info , if you want the USB port to charge and give up a little of sound quality there is a second interface use the second link

I dont think you can use the DC connector (cigarette lighter) to listen to music. If your car can listen to cassettes, there are converters out there that work. It looks like a cassette tape but at the end has a plug that goes into your mp3 player.

Some cars will automatically start playing your mp3 music when you put the tape in, or you need to press a button that says something like "aux"

if your car has a usb or an input that looks like where the headphones go in, then you can use those to hook your player up. Otherwise, its impossible :(

I am unsure if what your asking will work. But there is a product on the market that can solve your problem. An integration kit sold by GTACARKITS.COM The kit comes with a module that connects to the back of your stereo. The module provides you with an aux port for your creative zen mp3 player, and a port for apple products. If you happen to have an apple product, you can take advantage of its full capabilities. It will allow you to change songs from your car stereo, charge the device while its connected and plays music off the device with cd quality audio. When connected with the aux cable, you will lose the first 2 functions and only have the ability to play music, and control it from the device itself. The kit for your car is $100. The one needed for your car can be found at the following link:

http://gtacarkits.com/honda_civic_2001_2005_car_kit.php

There is also a video on that page showing how to install the kit in your car, it is fairly simple to install and usually takes no more than a half hour.

You could use a FM Transmitter for iPod, Just tune your car radio to a unused frequency and the FM transmitter to the same frequency, attach it to your ipod, start playing music and listen through the car speakers.

I have one, good quailty audio.
