You need to authorize both computers and then just take all your songs off of your old library, sync them onto the ipod, then do it over and over till you have it all on one library. It takes some time, but imo, its worth it! :D

Well unfortunatlly apple don't like people transfering media FROM your ipod to your pc - the only way around it is to downlaod some software to transfer media back.

Yeah it's a pain in the *** but the good news is that there are many free programs out there that are relitivly small. Just do a search on yahoo and you'll be sure to find something.

itunes blocks this function since itunes is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There're couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.

All i know of doing, is plug in your ipod to your computer through a USB cable. Then go to My Computer and click on all the removeable disks. Once a window comes up with different programs like "Music" open the music folder. Next, insert a blank CD into your computer. Then right click on your songs and click, "Send to - DVDRW Drive (Or something like that)" Next wait for the CD to burn. Finally go to Windows Media and click Rip. The songs on the CD will be stored in your computer!

1. Connect the iPod to your PC. If iTunes starts syncing (ie erasing) your music automatically, hit the X in the upper right hand corner of iTunes display, to the left of the search box, to stop it.

2. In Control Panel, Portable Media Devices, double-click your iPod.*

3. In the Tools menu -> Options, in the View Tab, check "Show hidden files and folders."

4. Navigate to the Music folder. On my 2nd gen 'pod, the full path is

Portable Media Devices\GINA'S IPOD (F:)\iPod_Control\Music

5. Select all the music folders, and drag and drop them into a folder on your hard drive, or directly into iTunes.

And you're done! The iPod music folder structure is strange and inexplicable, but once you move your files into iTunes you can set it to automatically organize your folder by artist and album to clean that up. (To do this, in iTunes Edit menu, choose Preferences and in the Advanced tab, check "Keep iTunes Music Folder organized.")

*note this is meant for classic view of control panel.

You can use this tool to copy songs, videos, photos, playlists, podcasts and more from your iPod back to itunes on your computer. It is a fantastic itunes alternate. You can use it to manage your iPod. It won't erase your ipod content
