sometimes when I sync my ipod to my computer the computer doesn't recognize it but yet it still shows that it detects a usb/apple device. What I do is keep the ipod hooked up and I reset it. Once it resets the computer automatically detects it. To reset your ipod just press the center button and the menu button at the same time and keep pressing them until the screen starts to restart. Good luck and I hope this helps!

I think its a software bug. That happens when new software comes out. Wait for itunes to update and I'm sure the bug will be fixed.

Im not an authority bt i hd similar undertaking. a million) Is it in BIOS or gadget manager that you checked for the USB Drives? 2) bypass to BIOS (f10 in VISTA & F1 in XP), on the significant window, search for USB LEGACY mode (or similar) examine even if it really is ENABLED.... even if it really is disabled jus spotlight the USB LEGACY MODE determination and hit enter and choose ENABLED >>> once performed hit f10 to save & go out. 3) Get into gadget manager. Open the RUN window and style in devmgmt.msc and hit enter, the gadget manager window wud look (it really is for bth Xp & VISTA) >>> In gadget manager click on the ( + ) signal next to "straight forward serial bus controllers" >>>> you ought to be certain "usb root hubs" ( quite a few of them) >>> proper click on "usb root hubs" and hit uninstall >> this should be performed for all the "usb root hubs" listed >>> examine if the usb gadget is detected lower than a similar determination it really is "straight forward serial bus controllers" >>>>> IF not, search for the alternative "different units" contained in the gadget manager window, click on the ( + ) signal next to it and examine for the USB gadget. 5) in case you do locate any of the units lower than "straight forward serial bus controllers" or "different units" proper click and uninstall.>>> once performed with uninstalling all the USB ROOT HUBS and USb units>> restrt the device 6) i imagine if there is the LED lite on the USB gadget and as you it really is gettin powered on, it seems that extra like an undertaking with the port(hardware) or some undertaking with the O/S information (yet you've formatted the HDD as you reported). 7) Unfrtunately i cudnt get my usb ports workin on my computing gadget, i didnt format my HDD cos of the large documents.... i really bought a USB RISER CARD (airborne dirt and dirt affordable, u can locate it in any h/w save)...... I put in the cardboard on the PCI slot on the MOBO (examine once you've one accessible)... so now im usin the USB ports on the riser card... wrks advantageous... its been almst a three hundred and sixty 5 days now!!! ill attempt researchin extra in this undertaking...
