Question:
Why is my iPod Touch's battery drain so fast?

So, I have recently noticed that the battery in my iPod Touch is acting, strange. I have had my iPod touch 4 for a year now. The battery drains EXTREMELY quick and when I recharge it, it also recharges EXTREMELY quick. In less than half an hour, it is supposedly full. I am afraid that I may have charged and discharged my iPod too many times and the lithium battery is losing memory. But then there is the strange part. When my iPod starts to drain, I sometimes set it down because I'm kind of scared about it now. But when I come back, it "magically" increases in battery. For example, the battery icon was at about 3/4 capacity and went down to 1/2. When I checked back later, it went back to 3/4 capacity? I'm not sure if there is a bug in my ipod that is making this happen, and if so, how can I fix it? Are there any updates that can fix this?
I have not updated my iPod recently (maybe a few weeks to a month).

Try conditioning the battery. Drain it down until it shuts off completely then plug it into the charger and wait for it to turn on. When it's on, turn it back off without removing it from the charger. Then leave it on the charger for 3 or 4 hours without touching it. Then turn it back on and remove from the charger. Then drain the battery back to 0 until it shuts off again and repeat the steps 3 times.

Before you try conditioning the battery, give it hard reset to make sure there isn't an app stuck running in the background that's causing the drain. Hold the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see the apple logo appear on the screen then release and wait for it to boot up. This doesn't erase any content.

Make sure you're closing down multitasking. Double clock the home button then hold and delete all apps running. This will give you a lot more battery time.

Does it have the latest software version? Update it on iTunes if it doesn't. Maybe there is a specific app that is draining it's battery quickly? Maybe too many apps are on in the background?

Turn down the brightness and make sure no background apps are on. If it still drains quickly then mos likely its the battery
