I don't want to get in trouble in any way. I have heard so much about this site. I went on it and it looked pretty good, but I saw some thing that said P2P, I read on a website that use P2P on your own risk cause it is illegal. I really want to get FREE music for my Ipod Nano. I spent all my money on my Itunes card for Itunes. Maybe you could tell me some good sites that let you download FREE music on your Ipod, But I want it to be 100% FREE that means NO Offers haft to be done. So I am really confused..PLEASE HELP ME!! Thanx! <3 <33

limewire itself isn't illegal because people are supposed to use it to share files and personal stuff. but lots of people use it to share music. when you download this music that they're sharing, that's what's illegal. and i hate to tell you, but there is nowhere that you can get free music, except for the occasional free offer from different companies. :( sorry, good lucK!

Technically, it is not illegal. But its users use it to download illegal files that is pretty much anything with a copyright such as music, movies, videos, ect ect. There is an option to check for licensing, but most of the files that it shares are mostly not legal because it doesnt regulate what is on it. This is also the reason why there are a number of viruses hidden among the files. While it exists because it is in the legal gray, using it to download music is definitely illegal. There are other websites that offer free music, albeit probably the most popular. If you want alot of indie music and remixes, go to newgrounds.com and check out the audio section.

Basically, any FREE music is illegal. There are exceptions, such as unpublished artists allowing their music to be distributed without cost to get their music out, but the majority of music you will want to be on your ipod will need to be paid for to be legal. The legal use of LimeWire includes downloading music of which you have already paid for, either by buying the album or paying for it through iTunes.

You could try Pandora.com. It isn't you choosing your own songs, but choosing your own music type and then it plays a radio station with similar songs.. Unfortunately there is no way to get free music without being illegal because of copyright laws.

if I ever get caught for using limewire for illegal downloads, I will sue limewire for making it possible.
