I have two young nieces and both want mp3 players. I had an iPOD I was giving to one but the other still wanted one so my sister gave me an MP3 player to get set up for her. I want to put the same stuff on both mp3 players to make life easier for everyone but I everything I have is in i-tunes. I wanted to know if there is a way to take her "COBY MP705" and hook it up to the i-tunes account as well. I have dell PC if that makes any difference.

I checked the manual for that player, and it seems that you're out of luck. That player is limited to playing files in wma, wav & MP3 - that's actually okay, but iTunes files are in a different format entirely - aac (m4a), so the files themselves will not be compatibke.

Also, the iTunes software is restricted to iPods. That's really not a problem once you've solved the file format problem since there are programs that will allow you to manage your software library - notably mp3tag which I used for years on my Sansa e260.

It doesn't, and if the computer mattered, you'd need to say more about it than its brandname.

Strangely, there are a lot of questions on YA that discuss this - however there is a split, with non-iPod owners (like the questioner here) wanting to know how they can use iTunes; on the other side, there are iTunes owners who want to know how they can get buy without using iTunes.

Mp3 players can not connect to Itunes because that is for Ipods only. You need to hook up the mp3 player and open it, and drag and drop.

iTunes is for iPods only. Copy the music to a different folder & just drag the music to the player.
