Which one of these 8 gb mp3 players are better?
?

SanDisk MP3/MP4 Player Sansa e280 - $50
Sony NWZ-E438FBLK 8GB Walkman Video MP3 Player - $70
Out of these, I'm thinking they both look pretty good. the Sandisk one has expandable memory, while I've always just trust Sony. Sony has been very good to me ^_^
I want an 8 gig, just because that fits my budget well. I'd just like to know which one of these are my best option, ignoring the prices. My main concerns are speed, organization of files, and reliability/durability. However, any other issues... pros or cons, are welcome. I'd also really like to know if there are any other good 8 gig mp3 players around that price range I should consider... I haven't done an incredible amount of looking as of yet, I just like these two so far.

See both the links and choose the apt one for you..I've an iPod nano 8GB, but it is way too much costly and the both of them you've mentioned look like a good deal. I'll go for Sony if I were you..anyway decide by yourself..here are the links

Do you just want a player for MP3? If so, just upgrade your cellphone to a feature phone that plays mp3. Many of these phones allow you to expand memory using a micro-sd card.

There are probably people who have had some problem with either - no such thing as a perfect player.

"My main concerns are speed, "

Not sure what that means - they all play their files the same speed, and accessing is probably about the same.

I have a Sansa E260, and it accesses files okay. I stopped using mine about 2 mos. ago when it froze up, then apparently reformatted itself. then refused to accept any more downloads. I don;t know that I could have sorted things out - I simply borrowed hubby's 1st gen Nano and have been using that. My Sansa was about 2.5 yrs old - it wiped about 2 or 3 times in that period, but was otherwise reliable. It was my 1st mp3 player, so I probably allowed my self to get wowed when I should have been more critical. Nonetheless, I used it about every day. My only real complaint is that the controls were very unreliable. The scroll wheel seemed to have a mind of its own - turn it one way, it goes the other way; turn it one way and it will go the right direction, buit not stop - making it a chore to get the song you want. You have to be careful when using the fast forward or rewind button because these are the same buttons used for skipping past tracks - though this is a problem of most/all players.

"organization of files"

This has less to do with the player than the ID tags on the file. When I got my sansa, my files were a mess - with separate listings for many songs have common artist, genre or album info. Eventually I found a program called mp3tag which allowed me to organize my library. Now all songs by the Rolling Stones share the same listing in artists; all songs from the "Hunt for Red October" soundtrack can be found in the same listing for albums; all "modern rock" songs can b grouped in the same genre. It's not the player, but the tags of the songs that matters.

I would go with the Sony. SanDisk is a great brand for flash drives and memory cards and I'm sure they make a quality piece of hardware when it comes to the Sansa. But we do see problems here where users don't seem to be able to get the tech support or customer service that I'm sure you've come to expect from Sony.

Congratulations on your new MP3 players, whichever it turns out to be!

I got a Sandisk Sansa view 8 gb for 47 dollars at ebay. It has larger 2.4 inch display and also has expandable memory. Before I discovered that, I had my eyes locked on Amazon's sansa fuze prized around 47 - 55 dollars which isn't much. If I were you I'd get a sansa view or a sansa fuze, eitherway.

Actually, I just got an ipod for free. There's a new site called lockerz where you can earn points to redeem later for cool prizes like an ipod nano (300pts) ipod touch (325pts) ipod touch 32 gb (600pts) even psp (200 pts) or macbooks (1000pts). All you have to do is answer daily posts/ questions, watch videos, or just by simply logging in to the site in order to earn points.

Lockerz is exclusive and joining is by-invite only. If you're interested, just drop me a message at jhunie20@gmail.com so I can send you an invite. Sign-up right away once you receive the invite so you can start earning points now!

hope this helps!

Funny considering you can't watch videos on Lockerz... What a tard...

Anyways, i'd go with the sony if you trust them. Go with what you trust. I have a zune but even the 4gb is out of your price range. But then you can always try craigslist.com or ebay? You may even be able to get one of the two you mentioned for less then that...
