I had that problem. I had all my music in my work computer, I put it on my Ipod and found a way to get it into my home computer. Go here and download this software: http://www.kennettnet.co.uk/software/podutil.php

Install it and just follow the instructions that are on that website. You can even choose HOW you want them to go back to your computer... by genres, artist, etc. The only drawback is that while transferring, every 50 files that it transfers, you'll get a pop-up... a reminder to buy the program if you like it. So you have to be there and click "ok" every 50 files that are transferred. But it's free so I'm willing to sacrifice my time for all my music! Anyway. I know it works so try it. :)

And about transferring into your Windows Media Player, once it's in your computer, just import it. Hope this helps!

Also, I re-read your question once I was done with my answer... I might be wrong but you can't transfer the files straight from the Ipod onto a CD. It has to go into your computer first. Unless there's some sort of Ipod attachment with a CD Burner but I don't think a CD can hold so many gigs!! So, actually, no, you can't do that. No CD can hold that much info. Ok. Bye!

If your music is on your itunes, then it is on your computer. So go into my computer and find your itunes folder with your songs, right click on the songs that you want to import to Windows Media, then there should be a propt that says 'Open With' and Media player should be an option.

Now as far as making a CD, you will need a CD burner installed in your hard drive. If you have that then there is a program on download.com, and it's called "Copy NOW" download that. Do the same process above, but this time send them to the Copy Now program, and click on "Burn" (at the bottom) then watch it work.... Hope this helps. Later.

You may have some real work to do... the music you have stored on your iPod will probably not show up, because they are stored as invisible files. If you use a Mac, you can go into Terminal and find them on the iPod, I am not sure if you can do anything similar from a Windows computer. Good luck.

What you can try to do is open My Computer and right click on the iPod and choose Open as Portable Media Device. Upon opening it there should be a file in the iPod called Music, it should have other files (like F49 and so on) each of these files hold your music. Copy each to your computer (such as drag and drop onto your Desktop), it should take a while. You will have all your sogns on you computer but the names will be WAY of so you might have to rename them all.

Hook up the USB cable between the iPod and the computer. An icon (typically) will come up stating that you installed a removable drive (E: or F: or something). You can then browse the contents of your iPod, then "drag" copy what you want to your CD burner drive or whatever hard drive subdirectory you want.

To my knowledge, you cannot take music from an ipod and put it anywhere, I went to the apple store and asked and I tried it myself. The music has to already be in your itunes library to burn cd's, then you put the songs you want into a playlist and go from there. I heard that there may be software out there that can do what you're asking, but I have no idea where it is, sorry.

Alright.. Let me stretch my fingers. Okay, Listen up. If you want to burn a CD, just look for a radioactive waste sign on the upper right side of I-Tunes(you have to be in Purchased or Library, In this Lime wire incident,Library) and click on that. You have to put in an emety disk when it promps you. There you go. (Warning! YOU CAN ONLY GET MAXIMUM 15 SONGS ON EACH CD OR THEY WILL SOUND WEIRD! Thanks, And if you have anymore questions e-mail me at clankandmatt@yahoo.com. I've Love Limewire, don't you?

Plug your I-Pod into your computer with the cable that you use to download songs onto your I-Pod. Then go into your Windows Media Player and there should be an icon that says from portable device or something like that.

plug your ipod in... then just find it by right clicking on start then choose expore then find your ipod on list on the left side..it's just like a harddrive (couse it really is) then click on it. once opened. find the folder where music is in and then choose all songs and drag and drop into a folder on whatever other harddrive that you might have on your pc/laptop... maybe rename the music and thats it.. works for me.. and ofcourse theres tons of programs out there that would do it.. but this is easy (believe it or not) and it's free ; )

When you connect the iPod to your computer there be a new removable drive created in "my computer". In that drive is the music on your iPod; just drag-n-drop it to any folder on your computer.

do you have the cable to go from your ipod to your pc?for best results it has to be a USB.you may have to purchase one 6ft long or if you can find it a 2 or 3 footer.open your music file and plug the cable into your pc. it should have a area at the top to click to download.if you dont may i suggest purchasing a program or better yet a audio card to install in your cpu that will allow you to do what you want to do.good luck

well you can copy your mp3 files over just by slecting them and copying them and pasting them mp3 can do that and as for buring them on to a cd you just do it with your buring software. i transfered 40gb of songs onto my computer and then onto 10 cds so i know what iam talking about but some cd players like in the car don't play mp3's so just make sure you have one that will play. my car's cd player does play them so its helpfull.

Windows Integrated, What Else?

What could be more natural, simple, and powerful than accessing your iPod as a device in My Computer? Browse your iPod using Explorer folders, right-click menus, and drag and drop, it's all there, just like you expect it to be. The less energy you waste figuring out how to interface with your iPod, the more you can enjoy your music. Excellent.

Superior Transfer

Quick, easy music, video and data transfer to and from your iPod is a must. Anapod makes it simple using drag and drop, Send To menus, and copy and paste. Advanced Transfer Management gives you expert control over tag handling, while SpeedSync keeps your iPod up-to-date with your PC music collection and Podcasts downloaded with other podcasting software. Anapod even shows you how well your USB or Firewire is performing! Anapod fully supports MP3, WMA (see AudioMorph below), WAV, M4A/AAC, QuickTime video, MPEG-4 video, iTunes Music Store music, movies, TV shows, music videos, audiobooks, and Audible.com content. Photo transfer is provided by our PhotoSync feature. Cool!

Playlists? Child's Play

Playlists let you customize your iPod listening. With Anapod, customize to your heart's content. Quickly add tracks using drag-drop or fly-out menus. Need to change the order? Just drag and drop. In Anapod you can create, delete, rename, shuffle, sort, merge, import (M3U, PLS, BPL/B4S, WPL, RMP), export, saute and deep-fry your playlists without breaking a sweat. Also take advantage of our built-in database engine to create custom dynamically generated MorphLists. People who like to play it safe will appreciate our unique Portable Playlist Backup feature as well. Sweet.

Complete iPod Support

No other iPod software supports your iPod as fully and completely as does Anapod Explorer. This includes robust support for Music, Photos, Videos, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played Time, Volume Adjustment, Album Art, and the Griffin iTrip. Anapod also provides access to your iPod's PDA functions with an easy-to-use interface for adding notes as well as automatic contacts synchronization with Microsoft Outlook. We've even included maintenance utilities to make sure your iPod is always as healthy and as organized as can be.

Anapod Xtreamer: Browser Power

Your iPod is Now a Database

Yep, Anapod Explorer includes the unique, powerful AnapodSQL embedded database engine. Search for tracks any way imaginable and generate content reports in text, HTML, and XML formats, then customize using stylesheets or import into a spreadsheet or webpage. Fantastic.

AudioMorph: Freedom of Format!

AudioMorph can dynamically alter audio bitrates and formats during transfers to your iPod. Keep your master audio files on your PC in high bitrates or uncompressed formats, and let AudioMorph transcode them on the fly when you go mobile. This means you can fit more music onto your iPod while leaving your originals intact. With compatible third party plugins, you can use the AudioMorph framework to transcode almost any music format with a full range of bitrates, modes, and options. Morpherotic!
