My ipod classic 7th generation won't show up in itunes. I have made sure that it is the latest version of itunes, and resetted both the computer and the ipod. I have also made sure to try different USB ports, and I even tried using itunes on a different computer. My computers both detected the ipod and the ipod said it was connected, but it did not show up in my itunes at all until I unplugged it from the computer(at which point the itunes showed a message saying that it detected a corrupt ipod). This is a 160 GB version, and when I look on the ipod, it shows only 59.7 GB free for use, although there is no media on the ipod besides the original games and such. Can you please help me with information on how I can fix this problem?

Hold the center and menu buttons for 10 seconds and then when the screen turns black hold the center and play buttons until it goes into disk mode and then plug it into itunes. Better make me best answer :P

If i remember right if you plug your ipod into your computer, and go to my computer it should show up as a disk drive or removable drive, i believe you should be able to right click and defragment it like you can with a regular hard drive. If that doesn't work then im sorry i don't know how else to help. Good luck.
