I has a 16Gb ipod touch, which presently holds approx 2300 songs. However I recently sold my desktop that held all my songs etc. I has a new pc and I am wondering, if I can transfer songs form my ipod to pc and save them. I would wish to have to reload 70/80 cd's some of which are doubles. I would be grateful of any suggestion to solve my problem. I also has access to my old pc holding my itunes library, Could I remove that library onto external hard drive and place in new pc. I wouldn't be a great techno person, many thanks

If you have access to the old PC, your best bet would probably be to transfer the songs to an external hard drive and then to your new PC. There is no way to transfer songs from iPod to computer using iTunes, but there are other programs out there that can do it. That said, it is not recommended to use multiple programs to manage the iPod, so if you intend to use iTunes, I recommend you just transfer using an external hard drive.

No, only if they were purchased in your iTunes account. Apple is overpriced and over-restrictive (to protect themselves from smart people, I guess) which is why I won't use their products. Open sourcing and share-ware is the way the world works, forcing customers to use their programs is ridiculous IMO.

Only purchases from itunes can be transferred, then you have to sign the account you purchased them with in to verify.
