Ok, im really starting to get aggrivated over my ipod. I really want to update to iOS 4. But during my update, i receive a "backup failed error (-5000)" "would you like to continue without update?" "all content will be deleted'
So what i was thinking, is that when i update it, i can uncheck the boxes: " sync music, sync apps, and, sync moves". So that way, i can bypass the long minutes of everything being taken off my ipod during its update. So that way, when its fully updated, i can make a new itunes account and start fresh, so i wont have to delete everything again. But will it mess up my ipod if i do that? or does it seem like a smart idea? I really dont care about all my game saves. at this point, i just want to move to iOS

I think that is a good idea. Makes alot of sense to me. I wouldn't have thought of it. The backup failed error, all content will be deleted, just means that if you were to ever restart you iPod, it would not remember the previous settings. It is just an "OMG my iPod is messed" setting, if that ever happens. Overall though, sounds like a good idea, sounds like it would work.

Good luck
