Earbuds, earphones wtf is with the expensiveness!! I saw some earphones by Bose and they are $99!!!!!! Who in their right mind would pay for such a thing? Currently I have the original Ipod touch earphones, their sound works great (and they supposed to have a mic too which I cannot find, I tried to use voice record but nothing recorded) only deal with apple earphones is that the volume remote is already not working WTF I only had the earphones for a week now and already it doesnt work? At least I can still change sounds. My deal is that why are these fragile earphones expensive as hell, heck id rather pay $99 for like two or three videogames that will last me forever (albeit ill get bored of them but they will always work and be there) rather than earphones that break easily. Can anyone reccomend me an earphone brand that is cheap, has a great sound quality, and are durable (doy lol of course everyone wants these things) but if you guys know of any let me know please, thanks!

LOL... I hear you brother!

You've asked the million dollar question: why Bose so... ???

Expensive -yes

Well Marketed -yes

Overrated -yes

Ergonomical -yes

Overhyped -yes

Nice looking -yes

Underachieving -yes

Cheap manufacturing parts -yes

Underperforming -yes

Cheap manufacturing process -yes

Rip-off artists -yes

Appealing -yes

... and on

Seriously, this is a hard one... it's like asking who the f- would buy a $60,000 diamond ring... or who the f- would buy a $500,000 Rolls-Royce?? --- PPL just have money I guess... or - they are stupid --- In the case of Bose, I don't know what to say anymore.

Those earbuds $99 is not that bad... look at their stupid - $699 Wave Radio LMAO - a radio with a cd player... sporting 2 small speakers - that doesn't even go that loud... -OK it's compact and nice to look at... but $700??? wTf>?>? seriously... $700? Moronic if you ask me... and I have the money for it.

And then they also have a $5000 DVD-5.1 surround sound system - seriously, $5k [Bose Lifestyle48] - and it doesn't even have tweeters, no true subwoofer, NOT EVEN BLURAY PLAYER!!! LMFAO

That's just the begining... Look at their professional line - same cr** --- overpriced, overhyped - HOAXes for speakers.

All cheap paper drivers, all cheap partical board [LDF instead of MDF] or cheap plastic enclosures - with cotton stuffed in them LOL...to keep them from vibrating.

Absolutely amazing.

I've never seen any company this big [One of the Largest... if not the Largest Audio company in the USA]... get away with this type of CONSUMER TRICKERY!!!

Then... their headphones: - Their most expensive one: - is OVER $300...

But hey... We have money... what's a few hundred or a few thousand for these GREAT American Products [made in china]?? --- and hey! They're EXpensive, MUST BE GOOD!!!!right.

Then they market the hell out of themselves: magazine ads, tv ads, radio ads... wow!! - NO OTHER speaker company advertises like this!!! - THEY MUST BE GOOD!!!right.

Hope this explains it!

facts:

I've owned a few of their products... I was dumb enough to fall for their scams. I still own one of their products:-getting rid of it asap...It's in my CAR!... Lease over soon.

I've also disected my broken down products from them...

INside, is cheap everything!!!

Paper drivers with fabric-foam surrounds... thin Abs plastic with a big peice of synthetic white COTTON to stop the resonances, ... their accoustimass bass modules use PARTICLE board - seriously - Ikea furniture-like particle board... whereas all other decent audio companies use thick - Medium Density Fiberboard!... Then... they don't use tweeters in any of their consumer products [even most of their pro lilne also don't have tweeters] --- LOL... so they use small 2-2.5" paper drivers - lots of them!... then use their DSP [digital signal processing] - to force them to do mids, and lower mids... + more force to make them do the upper highs --- till the point of distortion/ lots of unnecessary noise- that they Call"live sounding" music!!! --- ever listen to any of their products for a long time - oer 1/2hour--- will give you migraine headaches!!!

This DSP also causes frequency response of their products to have peaks and valleys: - making your music sound COLOURED, INACCURATE, UNNATURAL, and MOST OF ALL FATIGUING!

...

OK - these bose products probably sound better than your average RCA or Zenith brand HTIB... but they are priced like 10x more -- they are definitely NOT 10x better... maybe just a tad bit - like 10-20% better....

Where they are more expensive than lets say Klipsch- more! -- but sound 10x worse!!!

End Rant...

Expensive Earbuds

I would be saying the same thing too, if I paid for ear buds and they do not work. I hate, when I pay good money for a product and it does not work. I cannot speak for the earbuds, I have heard from Bose employees on the internet, they are a compromise, an area where Bose needs to improve. I didn't notice in your comments that you found the music reproduction offensive. I have Bose Triport over the ear phones. I had them for about 5 years. They get great reviews for listening to music and movies. They are not as stylish as ear buds, so if you are a young man on a skateboard or bike, that might not be the look. It too costs more, but if you like the sound from the earbuds, you will love the sound from the headphones. If you choose to go another direction, Shure earbuds are highly recommended around the same price point. To me, the highs can get harsh, but the Shure line of products are legendary in the music industry. They seem to hold up well from what I have read in the reviews.

Best.

Bottom line, earbuds are limited, They don't have the size to get enough base, and they don't cancel noise well. You need Bluetooth headphones, They have speakers, not buds, and they don't have that pesky cord that's always getting snagged or pulled or tangled or severed.

Hope this helps!

Vote mine as best!!!!!
