Windows Media Player won't let me change the location to rip CD's too, it won't let me click the button at all. I go to "Rip Options" > "More Options" > "rip music to this location" > "change" and it dosen't let me click the "Change" button at all. Can anyone tell me why? I even tried uninstalling it. I have a Windows 8.1 laptop, and if this is ANOTHER thing that doesn't work on Windows 8 I might have to break this POS. Can anyone help me?

try settings for the default folder

check music folder for the ripped cd

if using external player/other storage device, see if it is read by the pc

sigh, know your frustration, why I stopped using WMP myself

I had this problem too. Fixed it with this:

In WMP's library, click Organize, and select Manage libraries - Music . If there are any unavailable locations, remove them, and also make sure that a Default save location is set. Do the same for the other libraries (Videos, Pictures, Recorded TV).

rip the file normally into windows media player. you can do this by inserting the CD into the CD drive and after a few seconds open windows media player and clicking rip. once the CD is ripped into media player and right click one track from CD and then click open file location. once in the folder click all the tracks and drag and drop to desktop. or make another folder with the name of CD or artist move all files into folder and then drag and drop onto desktop.

I've never had the problem you describe, but I run XP and Win7 on my main computers. Sounds like 8 is the real problem.
