Cannot connect to iTunes Store 9?

Question

I have checked my firewall, flushed my DNS, uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. Have tried installing quicktime and iTunes individually, and nothing. I've checked my modem, my router, my everything. I have windows XP- had iTunes 7- was working perfectly, but had to upgrade because I bought a new iPod shuffle. Ever since upgrading I cannot connect. Have run Diagnostic- says it cannot obtain a secure connection, this is the info given after Diagnostic:

I have quite literally tried every single option on the Apple/iTunes website, have been searching the internet for 2 days now trying to figure out a solution that works- so far, nothing. My computer is not WiFi- but other items in my house are- so, I have my laptop plugged into the router, which is plugged into the modem. I've tried connecting the modem directly to the computer, and that did not work either. There is a wireless computer in the house, and it is able to connect to iTunes just fine. My iPod touch can connect just fine. My computer connects to the internet just fine. Spent 84minutes on the phone with Apple Tech Support, with no luck. Please help me, I have tried every single option available. Not to be mean, but please do not suggest it is the firewall- it is totally disabled, iTunes allowed, etc. I have even tried turning it on, then off, on, then off- nothing. HELP!!!!!!

This happened 2 me aswell, itunes worked fine but wouldnt let me go onto the itunes store..

thing is i have a mac, and all i had 2 do was download a newer version of safari

so im not sure about a windows?

i guess try downloading the newest version of ur internet explorer?

I have the same issue. Win XP, iTunes 9. Haven't been able to use Internet Explorer, but I can use Firefox. When I log off my daughter's PC account and log onto mine, I can get into the iTunes store using my account. Same computer, same antivirus. I've unplugged the router, I've reinstalled iTunes, I've turned off the firewall. Still I can't get into the iTunes store with her account on this PC. This is frustrating to say the least; plus, there are numerous solutions out there to sort through. So far, nothing has worked for me.

just download the new version your music wont be lost or anything, and dont uninstall the one u have now everything should work after, since your ipod wont work with the old itunes =)
