18 month old ipod classic 160gb, the battery is completely dead, what should i do?

im a music manic, used it every day, everywhere i go. when im in my car its connected to my kenwood head-unit via usb cable. when at home, its connected to my pc to allow scrobbling (last.fm) and constant updating with my ever-changing library. over the last week or so the battery indicator wouldn't show/charge over 80%, now it won't even register the fact its charging or turn on. the battery displays a very thin sliver of red, then just dies.

Then REPLACE THE BATTERY.

You can try getting a new cord; maybe something's wrong with it and that's why it won't charge.
