I wouldn't suggest the Nano quite yet. Apple has had problems with the screens cracking/breaking very easily. You might want to go with iPod Shuffle if you don't plan on putting too many songs on it. And they don't sell the iPod Mini (unless maybe in a store). If you are able to afford it, I would go for the regular iPod (which I think is now the video ones).

Depends on what you want to do and how big thing you want. If you want to watch video and pictures probably the video Ipod. If you have less money and you just want to play music, the Shuffle or Nano will do. If you want to use it as a hard disk to I would recommend you to buy an Photo or Video player, due to more space.
