If you already put songs/vids on your ipod Touch 1.1.4, could you still jailbreak it? or do you hav to restore

I'm thinkin of spicing it up a bit, but I'm not so sure what to do. I know how to put it, but I don't know what to do before you jailbreak it. If you already put songs and videos on it, do you have to restore it, or can you just jailbreak even though there's already stuff on it?

It is possible to jailbreak your ipod even if it has songs in but if I were you, i would restore my ipod to its original state before doing the firmware update. Besides, you can still resync your ipod if you have copy of the songs and videos in your pc. If not, then that's another story - a very long one that is.
