IPOD TOUCH

It depends if you have AT&T for cell phone service:

(CON) If you do, then the iPod touch is worthless to you because for 100 dollars more you can get an iPhone with a built in 2 megapixel camera, SMS, a data plan, and a cell phone.

(PRO) If you don't, then the iPod touch is the closest thing to an iPhone, and is a great iPod.

Other PROS

Built in Wi-Fi

iPhone without the phone and service

Thinner

Great for movies

Flash memory

Larger screen

Other CONS

Smaller memory

More expensive

Different interface to learn(if you are used to your nano)

iPod Classic

First of all if you are thinking about buying a brand new iPod Classic, They are no longer produced in 30 GB, now they are 80GB for the same price.

PROS

Huge memory

Good for an iPod

Cheaper

Easy to use

CONS

Thicker/ heavier

Less applications and features

Smaller screen

FINAL:

The iPod touch is the one to get if you don't have AT&T. If you do, just buy an iPhone. The iPod classic is still great if you more than 16GB of songs, but otherwise, go with the first to sentences of this paragraph.

The ipod classic is a lot better! I bought the ipod touch a while ago because I thought the features were really cool, but theres rarely any wi-fi connection so you can never use safari, youtube, stocks, weather, maps, or your web apps. The only apps that don't require the wi-fi connection are the contacts and notes. And even if there is wi-fi connection youtube doesn't work half the time and it takes forever for the videos to load. The ipod touch doesn't hold a lot of memory and some times the touch screen can get a little annoying. The dates and times always get mixed up on my ipod touch. If I set my ipod touch to the correct date and save it the next day the date is always a year ahead and the time is totally messed up. I suggest you buy the ipod classic, my sister has one and it holds so much more memory than mine.

It really depends on what you need.

If you have 3000+ songs, get a Classic. If you have a fair library, consider an iTouch.

If you want people to awe in delight when they see your iPod get an iTouch. If you couldn't care less, get a classic.

If you have wifi, and frequently use it, get a iTouch; if you don't you might as well get a Classic unless you live near a coffee shop.

If you would use the features then get an iTouch, if they would just sit there stagnant get a classic.

sorry if this is sounding like a broken record, but consider what you need before buying. Do you need the huge memory, or the actually awe-inspiring device that belittles other mp3's?

It depends on what you want. I have both. I have an 8 GB touch and a 160 GB Classic. Classic is great for volume. The amount of media you can put on it is phenomenal. I have 8000+ songs on mine and am barely making a dent. It also holds all my photos and I have a handful of my favorite movies on it.

The Touch can do all of the same, but as of right now, is incapable of holding my entire iTunes library. The bonuses are cool though. A larger screen is great for movies and pictures. Pictures can be viewed upright or sideways depending which way you turn the screen, and you can enlarge them by "reverse pinching" your fingers against the screen. The other bonus to the Touch is that it's wireless internet ready. It picks up signal and you have instant internet.

Both are really great products. It just depends on your needs and preferences.

iPod Classic

Pros-More space, more battery life, more durable

Cons-not as many features, small screen

iPod Touch

Pros-If you know how to jailbreak, you can add multiple applications(and possibly even a phone), YouTube, Internet, multi-touch functions

cons-low battery life (especially when on internet or watching video), very thin, after awhile screen gets dirty easily.

IMO, iPod Touch is better

touch (i have one)- if ur into cool features and extended capabilites..and u can manage your photos, music, and videos easily then this is for you

classic-if your into mostly music and space for it this is for u

i personally hate the price for touch...but once (if u do) jailbreak your device..its definatly worth it...the classic also has great features too...ur choice..happy day =]
